This is a group of adults with Asperger’s Syndrome that meet to discuss the challenges of living with Asperger’s and also to support one other in any way that we can. Anyone 18 or older is welcome.
The group typically meets the first Thursday of every month from 7-9pm.
Jill Holman runs the adult support group during the months of October, December, February and April. Parents, spouses, etc. will meet in a separate room simultaneously with the Aspie Adults (per request of the Aspie adults). Both groups run from 7-9pm. Please contact Jill at [masked] if you have any questions.
Jill Holman, a mother of a 20 year old with Asperger’s also runs the Naperville Asperger’s Parent Support Group. The group started meeting in February of 2006.
During other months, the group is led by Brian Sanborn (an adult on the spectrum). These groups are usually more open ended and tend to be either a relaxed discussion group or a social activity. Past activities have included playing games, watching a DVD and walking around the Naperville Riverwalk. We try to do at least 1 or 2 activities outside the church during the warmer weather. Please contact Brian here if you have any further questions: http://www.meetup.com/CASPAN/message/?recipientId=4350625
While RSVPs are welcome and appreciated, they are not required for this particular group. Anyone is welcome to attend if they think they would benefit from meeting with this group. People show up who don't RSVP, so the RSVP count is not an accurate measure of attendance. Please enter the church through the doors that face Catalpa Lane. If the lots are full, church parking is in the shopping center parking lot across the street.
