-PERIOD OF CLOSED ENROLLMENT-
We are not currently not accepting new members at this time.
We are only accepting new hike leaders. If you are interested in leading a trip, please contact the Organizer with details. Thank you!
The California Backpacking Club is a small and private group of friends.
Acceptance into CBC involves a slightly more rigid vetting process than most backpacking/hiking Meetups.
Tips to help streamline your acceptance into CBC: Read and answer every profile section completely. If you know another CBC member, tell us who. If we don't know you, temporarily unblock your meetup profile privacy setting when applying. We are generally fast when processing properly completed applications. Choose the right profile picture clearly showing your face when applying. If you are brand new to Meetup or backpacking in general, please let us know a little more about yourself by sending us an email after requesting to join. Applicants with current Event Host/ Organizer experience in Physical Outdoor Events that wish to conduct their own events at CBC are encouraged to join and will be given priority processing.
We strive for an "all core" membership at CBC.
Please maintain a profile photograph that is recent and clearly shows your face.
You must have arranged a ride to the meetup location prior to RSVPing
-As a general rule of thumb, we do not coordinate carpooling nor permit unsolicited requests for a rides towards other members already signed up for an event. Members who are offering up carpool situations will proactively post an offer instead. We may from time to time help stimulate conversation in support of someone who would either like to provide their vehicle or ride with someone who is offering up a carpool situation.
"No Shows" are removed from the club on the first offense. We do not offer warnings.
The events offered by CBC are designed and carefully managed by and for only the most discerning adventure trekkers who demand unique, well planned and executed events in exchange for their responsible and frequent participation and contribution to the club and it's events. We welcome all those wanting to adventure trek regardless of nationality, race or sexual orientation to apply.
