Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM
Venue: LA Public Library – Harbor Gateway

East Conference Room

Join us for a critique session.

If you are joining us for the first time, please download copies of our CRITIQUE GUIDELINES and handouts at http://www.meetup.com/CBW-LA/files/

What to Bring:

1. Copies of the FIRST chapter of your novel, or if you’re writing a picture book, bring the whole book that you want critiqued. The general rule is that you must bring copies for every member who has signed up for the session. This way, you get the most of the critique. However, if you aren’t able to do so, please bring at least 9 copies.

2. A voice/tape recorder if you wish to record the critiques.

3. A notebook/pad and pen to use for your critique notes.

Please let us know a day or two before if you won’t be able to make it, so we can give your slot to another person on the waitlist, as well as inform the participants of how many copies they need to bring.
The earlier you arrive for the critique, the better.

Thank you all so much. I left with a renewed energy and am really excited about the whole new first chapter of my book. I can't wait to get your feedback again.

Thanks for input. It's always a pleasure to get intelligent critiques from dedicated writers who know what they're talking about.

Nutschell, Which age group is Young Adult? Which age is the oldest for children's books? Thanks, Mary

Thanks Nutschell! If my book is too adult is it still appropriate for me to attend a critique session with your group?

    • Nutschell Anne W.

Sure. We can help you determine whether your book can fall under adult/YA.
