Hello Fellow Scribblers!
I’d like to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving holiday! Thank you for being a wonderful part of our CBW-LA family.
While we celebrate with family members and give thanks for all the good in our lives, let us not forget those who are not as fortunate as we are.
As you may or may not know, I was born and raised in the Philippines, so the recent devastation left by Supertyphoon Haiyan has been doubly heart-breaking for me. My own relatives and friends are mostly in Manila and its surrounding areas, and were thankfully not affected by the storm. But my other adopted family, the Doce Pares Martial Arts family, has had to deal with friends and relatives in Cebu (one of the areas most affected by the typhoon) who have lost businesses, homes, and loved ones.
Fellow board member, CBW-LA’s Marketing Manager Angie Flores, has also felt the effects of the super typhoon, having married into a Filipino family with relatives in Cebu and Manila.
In light of the recent tragedy, and our close ties with the Filipino community, the CBW-LA Board of Directors has decided to donate 50% of book sales proceeds to aid in the continuing relief efforts in the Philippines. The donations will be valid for all Story Sprouts Writing Day Exercises and Anthology 2013 sales in both print and digital format from November 2013 through January 2014.
So this holiday season, when you purchase STORY SPROUTS to give out to your family and friends, you also help out with a great cause.
To find out more about this project, check out our anthology website: www.storysproutsanthology.com.

I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving!
With Deepest Gratitude,
Nutschell Anne Windsor
