Event 752: Sunday Wild Card Open House at Panera Bread in Northfield

Every other Sunday, we have an all-day card game open house. Come when you can, leave when you want, but while you're here, you can learn/play a variety of traditional card and tile games ranging from mainstream American games (except Poker, Blackjack, and other casino games) to those from our regular European repertoire, including any new games we have recently learned. Other possible games include commercially available games such as UNO, Wizard, Phase 10, Flinch, Skip-Bo, Mille Bornes, and so on, although these must be brought by you or other members, as I will only have traditional decks with me, as follows:

  • Anglo-American decks (Euchre, Cribbage, Rummy, Canasta, Spades, Hearts, Sheepshead, Pitch, etc.)
  • Swiss Jass decks & Swiss Piquet decks (Schieber Jass, Mittlere Jass, Handjass, Molotow Jass, Coiffeur -Schieber Jass)
  • German Schafkopf/Tarock decks (Schafkopf, Haferltarock, Sechsundsechzig, Watten)
  • German-suited and French-suited Skat decks (Skat, Sechsundsechzig)
  • German-suited and French-suited Doppelkopf decks (Doppelkopf)
  • Austrian Tarock decks (Tappen (Tapp Tarock), Tarok (Slovenian), Strohmandeln)
  • Austrian German-suited and Austrian French-suited decks (Schnapsen, Bauernschnapsen)
  • French Tarot Nouveau decks (Jeu de Tarot)
  • French Belote decks (Belote)
  • French Aluette decks (Aluette)
  • Spanish decks (Tute, Mus, Escoba, Tresillo)
  • Italian decks (Scopa, Scopone, Briscola, Tressette, Madrasso, Terziglio, Sette e Mezzo)
  • Italian Tarocco Piemontese deck (Scarto)
  • Italian Tarocco Bolognese deck (Ottocento)
  • Swiss Tarot 1JJ deck (Troggu)

This is YOUR day, and we will play the card games you all choose (no fighting, please!). I am just along for the ride! All I ask is that you be fair to one another, and be willing to play each other's choice of games. The words "There are just some games that I WON'T play" should never be heard at these events! If you can't behave, you will have to go stand in the corner!

We spent the day playing Schieber Jass and Evil Tute. A lot of fun and a lot of laughs.

I'm going to do my bestest to make this one. The other two land on Sundays already "claimed" by boardgame play.
