Event 813: Card Games of Germany

As always, we are happy to teach new players, so if you do not yet know any of these games, come on out and learn. Nearly everyone in the group learned these games after joining the group, so you are definitely not alone!

To date, we have learned a total of seven card games from Germany:

Haferltarock (3 players)

Schafkopf (4 players)

Skat (3 players)

Watten (2-4 players)

Sechsundsechzig (Sixty-Six) (2 players)

Doppelkopf (4 players)

Schieberamsch (3 players)

Tonight we will play whichever of them fits our number of attendees and/or is in most demand. There is always the possibility of playing more than one!

We had a guest, John, join us tonight because he wanted to learn Schafkopf, so that was the game for the night. Though Nadine has historically never gotten good cards in this game, she was more than cordial about playing it. Hmmm, seems her luck has changed, and for most of the night, and in the end, was the only one with a positive score! Well done, Nadine! John is catching on very well, and I have no doubt that he will make a good player. The one hand he bid on, he won Schneider, so that is a good sign. Well played!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
