April 6th is the ERIE Asian Festival for 2013!!!
(Link to this Event in Erie)

So let's play Asian Card games and switch it up a bit!

Special Event - will invite different groups and crowds - so waiving the $1.00 admission fee normally charged per game to help cover costs toward meetup site dues and cost of the dedicated decks used by this group.

OK - Here's the scoop - I am in charge of the "game" activities for the Chinese culture.  The main focus will be Go and Chinese Chess.  However, I will keep some cards on the side and have some printouts/handouts to give to anyone interested. Admission is free, food is extra though... except drinks/water is free for volunteers.  Here's the plan:

Event goes from Approximately 12-5.  We can go there by 12, 12:30, linger about to get food, check out the booths and activities, then settle to play some cards on the side on the bleachers or whatnot, etc... (see below). At 2-2:30 will help setup the games at center table F section, again mainly Go and Chinese Chess... And I would appreciate if folks from our group will be there and willing to help out.  BUT know that is opportunity for us to help promote our card group too... Sooo.... =)  Let me know!!!

Christina will teach games she knows and played since childhood from Taiwan --which may include the following Asian Card Games (listed in order of difficulty):

Please feel free to browse the links below to learn more about these games or to read/print the rules in advance!

Sevens ... kids game - play out cards in order from 7s!

Red/Chinese Ten 揀紅點... kids game - red matching/add up to 10!

Big 2 大老二... in US can be seen played at colleges & universities!

Dragon/Chinese Poker 一條龍... 4P only - casino/gambling game in Asia!

Note: All Asian card games are played with the typical poker deck.

This will prove to be a fun afternoon and a great opportunity to make friends, immerse yourself in a different culture, and have a cross-cultural dialogue with cards!

We are happy to teach new players, so if you do not yet know how to play, come on out and learn!!! These will be the first variety of card games introduced to the ECGP group, so you are definitely not alone!

Please join us to enjoy Asian card games at an Asian Festival !!! or simply to just have some good card playing fun!  Expand your horizons!!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
