Book Group in July

  • July 3, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Hubbard house

Our book for July is the dystopian novel Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress. http://www.amazon.com/Beggars-Spain-Nancy-Kress/dp/B000AEFEMA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0BJFFZNSHF96AQMS479M
It is fiction, which departs from our norm, but group members who have read it feel it offers lots of food for thought and opportunity for good discussion.
Keep an eye on this date. If it appears difficult for most to meet so close to the holiday we may move to earlier in the week.

A little confusing...was it the book or the short story? Half read each. but still we enjoyed discussing implications of the story line.

I just realized that I am scheduled to work that evening, and it is too late to adjust my schedule. If I end up not working, or I get off early enough I will make it, but don't expect me. I am halfway through the book. Pretty good!

At this point this date is good. I don't think it will change.
