Demitri/Shadow is my son and first introduced me to Meet Up (though I hadn't come to the site myself until now) and through Meet Up we got to come out and meet some of you. I have especially enjoyed the game days with the group.
We begin as babes looking up to those upon whom we must rely for our lives and everything we have. We come to believe certain things usually fostered by our parents and then supported by our peers and even the world at large. Then we grow and if we are the usual we are thrust into the mainstream where everything must be right or why would so many believe upon and act upon the things they do? Our doubts and questions and misgivings having been thrust aside all our young lives resurface in the face of something or many things that just challenge one thing after another. We discover we've been lied to our whole lives... Well, some of us maybe most of us took a similar path to critical thinking. We always had the ability but when we finally break out of the chains, there is no going back to ignorance. So, in a word, yes.
Friendship with persons who don't accept the mainstream without question, who are not quick to criticize an expressed thought but are willing to reason a thing out for their own and others' benefit.
Hey all! I've met some of you. I'm Twilite. I enjoy good talk, good friends, sense and sensibility (critical thinking not the fiction story, which I haven't read... or movie, which I've seen once).
Great group of people!
