Fad foods and diets: shed weight right into their bottom line

Nearly every day we are bombarded with advertisements and endorsements of foods and diets to help burn fat and shed excess weight. Be it a fancy new berry discovered in the amazon rainforest or a diet that eliminates one food. They all show magic weight loss and incredible results. How do we identify the products and diets that don't work? Moreover, what does science tell us about healthy eating and exercise habits?

In this presentation, CFI-NEO member Brian Harrington will discuss the various and sundry fad foods and diets that will make your wallet but not you lighter, and what we can do that science tells us actually works.

    The reason it works for me is because I don't worry about counting calories 5 days out of 7. I know I can do it 2 days. Also supposed benefits of fasting.

    Did not attend but a little info on the 5-2 fasting diet. Two days a week(I chose Monday and Thursday)women limit calorie intake to 500 and men to 600. The other 5days I eat what I want and do not worry about calories at all. I lost 20 lbs. and have maintained it. Gets a little hard on fasting day but remind myself that the next day I eat what I want and don't think about it at all.
