I was a CFI national member then I found out that there was a chapter that met two blocks from my home!
All aspects of social justice! Without a equitable foundation we are limiting our reach in all aspects of life. I feel that rational inquiry inevitably leads one to Humanism. We must not only help our fellow humans move away from superstitious beliefs, but also move toward a belief in the well being of all humans.
I proudly identify as an atheist. The negative connotations that this word evokes are also present in any of the "less confrontational" synonyms to some degree. I feel tackling the misconceptions surrounding the most reviled label is the most efficient method of breaking down the barriers to real dialog and comprehension. I also identify as an anti-theist: I not only discount anything supernatural, but actively work against any form of "magical thinking" I encounter. Also identify as a Humanist. I like the tenets of Atheism+. And recently I have begun being an avid Beer Drinker.
