    (cont'd from the post below)

This might be more feasible at one of the Game Night things we do--which we are getting ready to plan another one soon--and as a self described introvert, you might enjoy yourself more at a Game Night anyway. But "forcing" everyone to sit & share their feelings; I don't know how popular that would be as we don't want to "force" anyone to do anything. At all of our events we try to keep the vibe light & fun as a opposed to a support group type setting as Center on Halsted, TPAN, & Howard Brown already offer poz related support groups. This MeetUp & CD4 are more to fill that social group void that exists here in Chicago. Thank you again, though, and we hope to see you again soon at another event.

I never said anything about sharing feelings;I simply recommend introductions.

And as Michael (below) pointed out; I definitely understand this is not a typical event. Not all of our events are like this. Here's a little background on the Filthy Mouth Contest. . .

. . .back in the 90s, Michael Alig (infamous founder of the NYC Club Kids; Netflix "Party Monster" if you haven't already seen it) used to host different events and one of them was an annual Filthy Mouth Contest, where basically people would shout obscenities into a microphone. It always sounded fun to me--and unfortunately we all can't have these Tourettesian fits at work--but lacked structure or talent. So that is where I got the idea; only my Filthy Mouth Contest will have structure & will require some finesse on the part of the contestants. And the CLIMAX of the thing will be a children's book reading. . .

I hear you Michael; but please do stay tuned to the page for upcoming events. I am trying to figure out some non-bar/drinking events. Thank you again; you take care too and be well!

Raymond, hi there, and thanks again for coming out last week. New faces are always welcome no matter how many times a group has met. You're right, the purpose of this MeetUp group and of CD4 is to build a larger poz community, as well as serve as a safe social outlet for poz guys. I'm sorry you were caught off guard that last Thursday was a mixer type event considering that CD4 is a social group & the event/contest was at a bar. I will take your comments & suggestions in the spirit they were given--thank you again for your feedback--and under advisement. Though the CD4 events might not be the best to "force" everyone to sit down & talk as they are meant as more of a social, fun type of event, as you pointed out.

Darren did a great job organizing this event. I do have a few conerns though. It is not easy to transitio into a group that has already been meeting, especially one that has seemingly formed cliques--just an observation.

From the description in the about us sectio, I was not expecting to be in a "mixer-type" event setting. Usually, the group organizer(s) is the faciliator. It would have been a great idea to turn the music off, gather everyone around, and begin introductions. The purpose of the group, I am sensing, is to build a community. Thursday's event seemed to me like people just happened to show up at the same and time on the same day. Why not just force everyone to sit together and engage in insighful dialogue before the contest (from 7-9:30pm)? I am in other meetups but do not feel like a stranger.

And I say this with the best intent. How about an interactive to get us all engagedd, including introverts like myself.

. . .the contestants will be given a children's book & be required to read only exactly what is on the page without adding any words. They will be judged by The Sisters on HOW they read it to make it sound filthy. This is easier than it sounds, OR maybe I am just a reeeeeally sick individual. *more evil, maniacal laughter. . .

Now, is everyone ready for some good, clean fun at the Filthy Mouth Contest this coming Thursday?

    Have you all been practicing?

And yes David, skip communion. You won't hear HOT, live butter & jam talk at church. You don't want to miss this. Plus you gotta have SOMETHING to confess, right?!

I was just amusing myself thinking about different food items that sound FILTHY, at least to me. For example, BUTTER; a stick or churn style, no matter how you spread it, it is the sexiest to happen to toast since jam. Hot jam. . . oozing out. . .all over your chin. . .mmmm, SMUCKER'S!

Woo-hoo, our first event in Lakeview y'all! This 3160 has a great layout; it was my favorite of those Mark, Johnny, & I scoped out when we had to pull out of Jackhammer.
And don't let the "piano & cabaret" description of this location fool you, that's more of a weekend thing and I have been assured there will be no piano'ing or cabaret'ing for our event. They have a decent sound system & it'll just be general tunes playing--like some kind of satellite radio station or something.
