Introduction
native and almost 100% lifer-chicagoan that wants to see more Indies, this sounds like the right place!
Favorite place to see a movie
Where the Indies are.. and not to leave out other fliks that were not sold as blockbusters for the masses. Where the quiet 'Sundances' accidentally end up before they go mainstream if that happens. I am just learning about more of the smaller and regular movie houses that offer a lot of smaller, smarter and even older fliks. Music Box was the general area I grew up around. Logan took up the largest chunk of my working life. Now I live south but get to the Loop and N Side frequently.
Last great movie you saw
With all theh movies I want to see, (this last year-'12 was loaded with brilliant mainstream and more ) my honest/ great list is so dated ! But still great, is one of the fun-smart types-The Bucket List. Morgan was stellar and Jack was great as the bigshot/schmuck counter-part. Poignant and funny, a tough combination to pull off. Obviously there are countless great movies much more recent and compelling. I have to check my rental history, and try to appear more current!
Your favorite all time movie
'President Gore'-Inconvenient Truth. /Because the facts are clear, pedigreed, and its been widely distributed, easy to buy and distribute it more! It has been updated, and the clear proof of what is catapulting quickly now is stellar. A River Runs Through is a glamorous expose of what was beautiful (so clean and safe) not so many years ago, and back to the endless times, long before population and the explosion of massive chemical solutions were all not causing problems. (can u tell I am a bubble unit survivor?!) I think family story content could transfer to current families..Ecology was the word when Earth Day started way back in 1970,-n ow that the planet is cooking, its global warming.
