This fight is not over

Dear Paul,

I’ve been worried about this for months now.

Just hours after you and I defeated President Obama’s outrageous gun control scheme in the United States Senate last year, the gun control crowd vowed that the fight was NOT over.

Then, just days after the recent tragedy in California – the toughest anti-gun state in the country according to the pro-gun control Brady Campaign – it happened . . .

In a last-minute sneak attack, the United States House passed an amendment increasing funding for expanding “background checks” nationwide

And without your action today, I’m afraid it’s about to get much, much worse!

That’s why it’s critical you sign your No Gun Control petition at once!

As you’ll see, this petition insists that my colleagues in the U.S. Senate vote “NO!” on any legislation expanding gun control.

The truth is, from the very beginning, President Obama’s goal has been to expand Attorney General Eric Holder’s so-called “National Instant Check System” in hopes of one day instituting so-called “universal background checks.”

I know to many Americans, “background checks” sound harmless.  But the truth is far more sinister.

The only way for our federal government to enforce a so-called “universal background check” scheme is to keep records of every gun and gun owner in the country.

So these so-called “background checks” are designed to create the infrastructure for NATIONAL GUN REGISTRATION – the first step toward banning certain types of firearms and then confiscating them.

I know anti-gun politicians and bureaucrats try and tell us with a straight face that they would never do that.

But you and I know this is the same federal government that has been caught red-handed:

***    Collecting and storing BILLIONS of emails and phone records on every American citizen.

***    Collecting and storing millions of faces off the Internet using facial recognition software.

***    Abusing its power to target conservative and pro-liberty organizations.

And we’re supposed to believe the same people who are so interested in cataloguing and registering every aspect of our lives, AREN’T interested in registering our guns?

Paul, you and I know better.

The truth is, depending on a government-run, bureaucratic “check system” to keep us safe from thugs and madmen is a recipe for DISASTER.

The only real way to protect against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Worse, now that this funding amendment has passed the House, I’m afraid the table is set for President Obama and his anti-gun pals.

Sure, the U.S. Senate could just vote to pass or defeat this appropriations legislation “as-is.”

But I’m afraid we could see something far worse.

If amended, this legislation would go to Conference Committee, which could easily be stacked with some of the most anti-gun members from both houses of Congress.

At that point, all bets will be off.

Then, any number of anti-gun amendments could be tacked on – and each House of Congress would only get one up-or-down vote on the total package.

That means NO Senate filibuster and NO more chances to strip anti-gun language out.

That’s why your action TODAY is so critical.

It’s absolutely vital your Senators hear from you at once.

Won’t you please sign your NO GUN CONTROL petition IMMEDIATELY?

Your petition will help RANDPAC turn up the heat on your Senators by showing them pro-Second Amendment Americans are ready to fight any attempts to curb their rights.
