Interested in mindfulness? The Center for Mindful Learning offers guided meditations, courses, and day-long retreats to support the meditation practices of our community.
We offer one day-long retreat a month at our home in Johnson, VT. Our beautiful, serene location is the perfect place to deepen your practice.
On Sundays, we meet at the Quaker Meeting House in Burlington, VT to practice mindfulness meditation. We begin each Sunday with a course on the theory of mindfulness; this is followed by an hour of guided mindfulness, and some discussion. We also have a Mindfulness with Movement class on Wednesdays at the same location.
Our practice and techniques are based on Shinzen Young's Basic Mindfulness system. Meditators of all skill levels are welcome at all of our events, which are offered on a by-donation basis.
We have embarked on a year-long series of events based on the life and work of Peace Pilgrim. Peace Pilgrim was a deeply awakened American spiritual teacher in the last century. She spread a message of peace over two decades and walked more than 25,000 miles across America. She taught that the most important condition for external peace in the world was internal peace. Her message has been deeply inspiring to Soryu's life and teaching at the Center for Mindful Learning.
