Hi All;

Days before the Federal Gun Laws were announced there was a US Congressman that promised to introduce the Articles of Impeachment on President Barack Hussein Obama.  Does anyone have this Congressman's email address (I computer crashed and Carbonite doesn't cover email).

PS: A strong salute to all that went to Albany Saturday - sad that no papers covered it except British Press. I wish I had gone. My regrets.

Subject: [cny912] The First Second was the Fifth!

This is an early version of the Second Amendment. This is taken from an early version of the Bill of Rights and was approved by the House of Representatives. There were several such early versions of rights the founders and states felt should have been in the constitution and needed to be enumerated. Madison combined several models of it into the one that was finally ratified and we know today.

What we know as the second amendment is here "article the fifth"

                ARTICLE THE FIFTH.

A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the People, being the best security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, but no one religiously scrupulous of bearing arms, shall be compelled to render military service in person.

What is interesting in this working (at least to those that actually value the constitution) is that it clearly defines ALL the people as the militia.

it also is specific about this establishment being to assure security of a FREE state - I.e. it is established no for hunting but to assure no tyranny -

"the best security of a free sate" as the defined purpose.

Next, look at the following - this is one of the conditions New York placed on ratification of the Constitution:

That the people have a right to keep and bear arms; that a well regulated militia, including the body of the people capable of bearing arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defence (sic) of a free state.

New York also proposed "That the powers of government may be reassumed by the people whensoever it shall become necessary to thier happiness"

So it was, as we know, not about hunting, as last time I looked the population of Odocoileus virginianus (white tail deer) posed no threat to mr. Cuomo's imperial power.
It's only a shame Madison was such a stickler for brevity and did not leave the fuller definition.
Regards
