CONSTITUTION-CAFE-on-the-MS-Gulf-Coast, second Wednesday evenings.

  • Jul 9, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We meet at Harmony Hall.

[masked]th Avenue, Gulfport MS 39501
(North off Pass Road, about 1/3 mile East of Hwy 49)
Park across the street or in corner mall.

At our first meeting on 13 March John Tuepker discussed his new book:

GOING DOWN: Connecting the Dots on the History, the Issues, and Our Future.

It's an in-depth presentation from his experience as history teacher, union leader, and local Democrat. Very interesting

Our next meeting, 7pm Wednesday 10 April, discussed:

The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism by Naomi Klein
Picador Paperback 2008; ISBN-13:[masked]

It's a classic, (C):2007, that many of us have read and most of us have seen mentioned in other writings. Lets compare our opinions about her critique of "Neoliberal" free market orthodoxy, from Chile in 1973 to Iraq today.

Next was a presentation by a visiting speaker from AL Gore's Climate Reality project.

In June, July and August the topics were:

America the Possible by Speth

The New DZigital Age by Schmidt, Cohen

Failure of Laissez-Faire Capitalism by Roberts

And in September and October, no topic, no meeting.

Please send suggestions, for other readings and discussion topics.
