CPH Data Drinks 2.2

Copenhagen Data Drinks continues.

As usual, we meet to discuss open data in an informal setting. Everybody are welcome!

Please consider giving a lightening talk (max. 5 minutes each). You can tell about a project you are doing, or about data you would like to have access to. You do not have to fill all five minutes - you can also just present yourself and tell what you are working on. It is a great way to get in touch with others.

Just get a hold on one of the event hosts (Jørgen or Simon) before the meeting if you want a slot.

We are now 100 Copenhagen Data Drinkers! Our 100th member is Yodana Thorsdal Santiago. I will celebrate by buying him a beer if he shows up tomorrow evening :-)

Hej Jørgen/Simon - If you have more 5 min slots for Wednesday I'd like to beat the drum for the free access to DMI weather prognosis data http://registrer.bruger.info/home

I don't know if this project qualifies, but I'm working on organizing: "Startup Weekend Copenhagen Media" - the first startup weekend (ever) to focus on the media industry. ... And we're especially looking for programmers to join as journalists can't reinvent the news industry alone.

That sounds interesting Ernst. There's a lot of activity around data driven journalism across Europe. Some of the more visible people are in DK by the way, esp from the 'transparency activist' corner: Brigitte Alfter and Nils Mulvad. Less activity I am aware of in DK around using public data to address stories not centered on the functioning of gov itself, but to tackle societal issues.
