I am so, so, so sorry my friends, but I have to cancel coming with you this weekend..long story short, a Mama cat had kittens under my porch, and I was able to get them all to the vet Monday who will foster the kittens and adopt them out when ready. I was thinking they wouldn't be able to be weaned for awhile and they would all stay there. Well, she was ready to come home today. She has to be quarantined in our house because she might have ringworm, which is extremely contagious, and we have another cat. Plus it spreads easily to humans. And horses. So, she's in a small bathroom for the next 10 days minimum, and it would just be cruel to leave her alone all day Saturday while I came up to Wild Places because my husband is at work for 13 hours. I also don't want to risk spreading anything to the horses. I was really looking forward to this, and I am so sorry to disappoint.

So sorry you won't make it! That's how I ended up with TWO of my cats --- ferals that had to be quarantined in my house --- and by the end of the quarantine period, they wouldn't leave. :-)

So I have RSVP'd that we will be there and now my husband is "on call" so we will have to take a rain check. Sorry for the inconvenience. Looking forward to the next time tho.

Alright so I'm doing my grocery shopping today so here's the deal: I'll bring supplies for the extra large breakfast tofu scramble, since I think it's going to be impossible to coordinate the correct ingredients otherwise! Y'all will have to feed me your delicious lunch fixings :) Are the veggie burgers at the Saloon vegan? If not, we can grab a pack at the grocery store and make them cook them for us, haha!

    • Tinya D.

Perfect! Thanks Lisa. Count 2 more on our end for scrambled tofu. The Gardein Burgers are the best in my opinion Kelly. I can bring some garden Boca burgers which are soy and gluten free.

      July 8, 2013

    • Kelly A.

I'm having second thoughts about asking them to cook ours -- if they're super busy they may get in a huff about it. Let me find out what their burgers are, and if they're no good, I'll make something to eat here before or after we go. Does it need to be soy/gluten free?

So, for the camping peeps, should we figure out lunch/dinner/breakfast contributions so we have enough food? I'm thinking of bringing the fo'tuna salad with sandwich makings again for the lunch potluck, and that got me thinking about the other meals..?

I was planning on bringing a Vegan Egg Salad dish, but more importantly, what about bringing carrots for the horsies? Will we be able to give them carrots, and if so, shall I pick-up some?

    1 · July 8, 2013

    • Kelly A.

Yay for vegan egg salad, and yes they can have carrots!

That would be fun -- we'll have to check the burn restrictions that day...

Wow, this sounds like an awesome day! As a new member I'd love to participate in Saturday's activities, but will be out of town over the weekend.
