Protest Freeport's Plan for a Garbage Incinerator In OUR Backyard!

Attention Patriots:
We are assembling this Monday evening to protest the Village of Freeport's plans to build an incinerator to burn garbage delivered here on Long Island from our neighbors in New York City.
The effects of this facility will have ripple effects in surrounding towns like ours, such as long lines of garbage trucks driving through our communities, highly toxic fly ash, dioxin and furan emissions into the atmosphere, and an endless parade of barges in the Great South Bay. These things effect every one of us!

This is a quality of life issue, and we must show our support. Please join us this Monday evening. Bring your flags, bring your signs, show your Tea Party affiliations!

Let Freeport's Mayor Hardwick hear us protesting LOUDLY outside of his April 5th meeting at Freeport Village Hall!! We DO NOT WANT AN INCINERATOR in Freeport!!!

Coincidentally, Mayor Hardwick was asked if he talked to any civic groups in the surrounding towns on this issue and he replied, that "[he] didn't need to, because it doesn't effect them, and that there was no requirement that he do so." NOT TRUE! This effects us all.

Freeport Ordanances:
SIGNS: Please bring your homemade signs, the signs can have wood handles and please stick to the issue of "No Incinerator In Freeport".
NOISE: We can chant as loud as we want; but no bullhorns or amps.
OTHER RULES: We have to be in a single file, walking in a circle. We can't stand still, we can't block the entry to Village Hall and we can't stand on private property.

I hope to see you all there!!! For those who want to attend the meeting, you can do so after the protest. Additionally, as far as I know, the Merrick Civic Ass'n will also be in attendance and they will try to get media attention for this event, so TELL EVERYONE you know.
