At our programme planning meeting in November, the issue of CSR and Social Media was identified as a highly relevant issue going forward into 2014. Hence we are very grateful that Taz Burwaiss, who is one of our co-organizers, has offered to give a talk and lead discussion on this topic. Taz has several years digital marketing experience working in the B2B corporate sector and is presently working as a social media executive for a number of global brands.
At this Meetup Taz will be discussing a number of issues including…
The meaning of CSR
The problem with social media
The purpose of social media
Using social media to build trust
Using social media as a listening tool
Using social media to deepen relationships on both an intellectual and emotional level with the customer
And much more…
Taz is presently social media executive at i2i Events Group. He has worked in the corporate sector for a number years, as well as having had significant experience working in the charity sector and 3rd sector. Taz graduated from Newcastle University with an MA in media and journalism, while also acting as president of People & Planet society for 2 years.
After the talk and discussion there will also be the usual opportunity for networking. Furthermore, as always, for those attendees that might not have been to this venue before, please do not confuse it with Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street! A cash bar will be available on the ground floor of the venue, so please come a little before time if you wish to purchase drinks so that we can start promptly. Space is limited, so if you are genuinely interested in coming to this Meetup please sign up early. If your plans change subsequently please amend your RSVP prior to the Meetup so that if there is a waiting list other members can take your place if it turns out that you can't make it on the night.
Finally, kindly note that, although at present we don’t charge either for membership of the group or for attending Meetups, a box for voluntary donations will be available at the Meetup for any attendees who might wish to supplement the kind support of our current sponsors in terms of defraying our running costs.
