March 19, 2009 will be the 6th anniversary of the war in Iraq.
The Central Savannah River Peace Alliance will hold a vigil at the Jaguar Student Activities Center patio (outdoors to the west side of the building) from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 19. It invites students, staff and faculty of Augusta State to join in publicly demanding a rapid withdrawal of military forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. Literature with information about local peace activities, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and alternatives to military enlistment will be available.
I spoke with Public Safety about parking on campus. I was told that a person could go to the Parking Services office for a free temporary parking permit. The office is located on Arsenal Avenue opposite Trinity Church. Have your driver's license and your tag number ready to speed up processing. This parking permit allows you to park in any student lot.
