We Survived the NY Open!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to touch base and let you all know that we had a GREAT time at the Open.  4 full days of nothing but backgammon.  And the celebrities had an AMAZING showing.  Many of the "giants of BG" were there... Bill Robertie, Kit Woolsy, Karter Matig, Ray Fogerlund, Paul Weaver, Falafel, Ed O'Laughlin, Victor Ashkenazi, Bob Koca and more.  It was incredible to see these guys play and be around all the BG "genius".  Humbling to say the least.  Anyway, check out some pics on the website and come hear some stories from NY... like being in a 5-6 handed chouette until 4a.

And through all that, the CBC made a great showing.  Look at what we did...

WARM-UP (64 players): 1-SHARON Torres (NY)  Sharon runs our Westchester meetup

NEW YORK DOUBLES (32 teams): 1-Fran Goldfarb (NY) & Mike Senkiewicz (NY), 2-AL Cantito (CT) & MARCY Kossar (MD).  Marcy just recently moved to MD, but 30-60 days is still good enough to claim her.  ;-)))  Oh, and btw, Al & Marcy beat Kit Woolsey... now THAT is impressive!

HONORABLE MENTION goes to ROSS who made it to the semi-finals in one of the "Blitz" side events, and ANDY for kickin butt in a 3-4 handed chouette on Sat night.  Yay!

SO A BIG CONGRATUATIONS! TO:

SHARON, AL and MARCY!

so come to the next meetup and meet CT's own "BG Giants"!
