CTH Wood Workshop Weekend - Get Building Something Today!

Saturday April 5th. 3 pm

This month’s projects: Building your very own birdhouse from scratch and / or Build your own Memory Box

Spring is coming upon us soon. Enjoy the day as you build your very own birdhouse as the base for your own backyard bird sanctuary. Starting from plain lumber, you will build a complete birdhouse that when finished can be put outside for the use of cavity nesting birds. If birds aren't your thing, you may like your build your own memory box as a way to foverer hold your own keepsakes forever. The workshop is geared to do-it-yourselfers of all experience levels and is a great learning experience. This activity is a great way for families to work together and create a functional piece of art.

Using the CT Hackerspace Woodshop, you will take lumber stock and create your very own custom birdhouse or memory box. After a safety course, you will have access to the CT Hackerspace work tables, tools to use, helpful hints, an experienced guide on hand to guide you through the project.

Materials for this course are $15, and you may buy more than one kit and more than one family member can work on a kit together. Don’t forget to bring your artistic abilities! Bring your own materials to carry out your own custom design-work after you build it. Things like miscellaneous hardware, door knobs, paint, etc. could all be sources to add your own artistic touch.

Birdhouses or Boxes not your thing? If you have and idea of something you want to create and you are not sure where to begin, bring your own materials and our experienced guide will help you get started.

Cost: CT Hackerspace members - FREE plus ($15) materials Non - CTH Members $10 plus ($15) materials

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
