Picnic and Fireworks at the Beach--

We are getting together Friday, JULY 12, 2013 to hang out AT OAKLAND BEACH by the lifeguard stand near the jetty in Rye. If you would like to join us,bring a blanket or chair, food to gnosh on, and a beverage of your choice, and don't forget that water is also a beverage. This event has been popular in the past  and we have gone many times and have had a great time. We are meeting on the beach at 6:30 PM. When you enter the beach, walk to the left. We will be by the lifeguard stand near the jetty. We can watch the Playland fireworks from the beach which start at 9:15 PM and then decide what to do from there. Although the really good part is to just sit and enjoy the night until about 11pm and then make your way home, unless of course you feel like you need to "take yourself higher", in which case there is a TIKI BAR. Just remember that DRINKING RESPONSIBLY is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

The PLAYLAND PARKWAY strictly enforces its 40MPH, so drive carefully.

Parking at the Seaside Johnnies/Oakland Beach parking lot is $5.

Admission to the Beach is $2. Weather permitting.

Check your e-mail on "OUR" website on Friday afternoon after 3 PM to see if the event is canceled. If you DON'T see a cancellation, the event is still on.

We posted the fees on the event notification. After 5pm, it is $5 for parking and a $2 fee for the beach. It is well worth it (weather permitting) for a fun evening with friends and spectacular fireworks show.

Sorry we missed you. Laura and I were there with Jimmy Young and Shera. We walked around looking for other meetup people and positioned ourselves closer to the front entrance near Seaside Johnnies so we wouldn't miss anyone. We left at 7:30 when it started to rain.
