Just as the leaves should be at their peak, we'll be meeting at River Station in Poughkeepsie, taking their free shuttle to the Walkway over the Hudson, then crossing the river while enjoying the spectacular views.
The park provides access to the Hudson River's breathtaking landscape for pedestrians, hikers, joggers, bicyclists, and people with disabilities. The bridge deck stands 212 feet above the river's surface and is 6,678 feet (1.28 miles) long, making it the longest, elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.
Following our round trip of around 2.5 miles over the river and back, we'll take the shuttle back to River Station where they are celebrating Octoberfest 2010 with a delightful collection of German specialties on the menu, along with their regular offerings.
Check out their menus!
