It’s time celebrate the final full moon of 2012 with a Full Moon Holiday Wolf Walk and Fire Pit Chat at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, NY.
The Wolf Conservation Center (WCC), founded in 1999 by Hélène Grimaud, is a private, not-for-profit organization. WCC is a captive breeding facility for 2 breeds of critically endangered wolves (Red Wolf and Mexican Gray). They are home to 25 wolves and are dedicated to environmental education and the preservation of endangered wolf species.
We will meet up at the newly installed fire pit located very close to a pack of endangered red wolves and short walk away from the Ambassador wolves. If we are lucky, we will hear the symphony of howls each one as unique as a human finger print. We will keep warm by the fire, talk about the challenges the wolf is facing today, their relationship to the environment and the human role in protecting their future There will be marshmallows to roast, hot apple cider to sip and we will enjoy some tasty holiday sugar cookies and other treats.
Afterwards, we will walk to the Ambassadors where Alawa, Zephyr, and Atka will be very excited to see us and perhaps we can get them to give us a howling reception !
This is a multi group event posting and is limited to thirty (30) people. RSVP here AND you must register with the Wolf Conservation Center @ http://nywolf.org/ Registration will be closed once we have reached maximum capacity. Future events may be posted if requested.
Please wear comfortable warm clothing and bring a flashlight.
