Hi Everyone!

We changing the game plan on the 14th!  eBay Government Relations is coming to us on the 14th to discuss the proposed internet sales tax issues.  eBay opposes any attempt by Congress to pass this legislation unless there is absolute protection in place for sellers.  This discussion will be hot and you won't want to miss this meetup.  This will be a great time to have your questions answered about this issue.

Frederica was very informative and prepared - great speaker amid the noisy room. Thank you Michelle for getting us access to someone from eBay Government Relations in DC. They are obviously totally on top of this. I was pleased to see that. I learned a lot about the status of this bill, the process it is going through, who is pushing it and who is fighting it, and the true motives of those behind it (i.e. cover all sellers eventually, not just those above a $1 million threshold.) State governments are tracking down every possible tax dollar to collect, but in the process it greatly inhibits small business that does not have infrastructure to deal with their ever increasing regulations. More state governments are starting to show surpluses and I hope those fighting this bill are pointing that out. Connecticut is somewhat hopeless, but we should be writing to our Senators and Reps. regardless.

For those attending tomorrow night's meetup - I ask that you please arrive by 6:15 if possible as we will need to start our meeting promptly at 6:30 p.m. Our speaker will be speaking about what is going on with the internet tax sales issues at hand and taking questions for about 50 minutes or so and then she will need to leave promptly to make it back to airport for a flight back to Washington D.C.

Just to let you know as well, we will be sitting in the restaurant area tomorrow night as there is a private party going on in the back room where we usually sit...it will be a slightly tight squeeze, but I think we will be fine.

If anyone has any concerns, please let me know ASAP! Thanks.

    Happy Selling!

Hi everyone, I plan to be there. I have a jury duty notice, but assuming I will be free that evening. This is a topic of importance to us all. The legislation passed the Senate last week but will have more difficulty in the US House. We should be writing our Congressional Reps.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
