Hi and thanks for checking out the CT Lesbian & Bi Soirees!
This is a statewide group to facilitate lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and queer-identified women, age 21 and up (and up and up) meeting, socializing, and networking. WE ARE NOT A DATING SITE! The group originated with monthly events at night (hence, the use of the word "soiree": a party or reception held in the evening), but expanded to include all types of activities at many times of day, all over the state, NOT JUST NEW HAVEN. We hike, kayak, paint, drink, eat, play cards and board games, walk our dogs, talk, sing, carve pumpkins, DANCE, dress up, dress down, dress in costume, see plays and movies, and sometimes even take trips. We are all here to make friends. Occasionally deeper connections are made.
The events are held throughout Connecticut and occasionally in New York or Massachusetts. We have several very active event organizers, and we encourage all our members to plan and host events. We have events almost every weekend, and sometimes on weekdays. Sometimes events are specified for a particular group, and that's okay, too.
We welcome all adult women in the aforementioned categories, single or coupled, young or not so young, and though it should go without saying, of any political or religious persuasion, race, ethnicity, or class. We welcome anybody who IDs as female. We do not check "packages" and what medications members are on is nobody's business. If you say you're female that's good enough for us. [And just to be clear, men (straight, gay, or bi), no offense, we love you, but this is a women-only group.]
The vast majority of our events are adults-only. Nursing mothers may bring their infant, if appropriate, with permission from the hostess. Older babies, children, minors, and men are not welcome at our events unless otherwise specified by the event hostess (occasionally personal friends are invited to someone's home, sometimes an activity is child-appropriate, and sometimes a bi-friendly event might be shared).
Please note that you must include a first name and last initial, completion of the profile questions, and a clear photo of your face. I must be able to see your face clearly in order for you to be admitted. Anything else will not be accepted. You are required to keep a current photo of yourself on your profile so that organizers and other members can identify you at a meetup event.
This meetup requires $5 yearly membership dues per person (couples who join as a couple pay $10). You can pay online (the Pay Dues button is on the left-hand side of the home page) or by mail; the name and address will be sent to you when you join. We offer a 30-day free trial membership, so go ahead and join! You've got nothing to lose.
Also be advised that we take photos of our members enjoying our events and post them to this meetup site. Our site is private; only other members can view the photos. If at any time you do not want your photograph taken, please feel free to let the photographer know.
We ask that you please do not post meetup event photos to your personal social media accounts like Facebook without permission from everyone in the photo, including people in the background.
