Jungle Survival

  • October 15, 2013 · 7:00 AM

This is for the TV show wannabe survivalists in the group. Since you want to learn how to survive like they do, here's your opportunity.

You will be flown to an unknown spot in the Amazon jungle where you will have 2 weeks to experience real jungle survival. You will have a backup support crew just like the guys on TV but I will decide when or if they should intervene.

I guess the pressing question is who has admin access to the groups page? And if they do not know how to delete an unwelcome post please contact me.

Who posted this? I think it decreases the group's credibility.

Okay folks: idea: let's do an outdoor barbecue now. The weather is perfect and the state parks are not charging in season fees. We can chat up what kinds of meet ups we want to do in future and discuss the direction of group.

Maybe it was supposed to be $7,500.00? That would have been more reasonable.

I am in the central mass prepper group and we have training, but $75,000.00 for jungle training?
Give me a break! For that money! I could get me some land! And start to get my own survival digs running!
Who is making money out of this?
    Is this a money/scam site??
    I am out of here!

The New Organizers haven'r removed this post which the previous Organizer posted - we still do not know if he fell for the scam or if it was meant as a joke

I am still game... I am sure the price is negotiable... or there was confusion with the currency conversion... where is your cents, er, sense of Adventure?

Hmmm. Think this meetup could be deleted so potential new members won't think this group is for flakes or TV wannabees? We KNOW the old organizer went out as a sourpuss; there's no need to continue on with this.

Note: this "event", not the meetup itself... Just in case some reader is very literal.

It does make the group look like scam artists or a bunch of morons

Is this group still up and running? What happened here?

    1 · December 11, 2012

New people have taken this group up. I am looking forward to seeing their direction. This particular specific "meetup" event we are posting in is an unfortunate legacy of the past leader on his way out. Anyhow, hang on, and keep an eye open -- I suspect the new folks who stepped up will turn this place good. :)

Diann I think you are correct & I just hope that the poor guy wasn't taken advantage of & lost money on the scam

Well that is a lot of money, to just throw away/ expendible income.

So, I guess I am the last remaining survivor of this particular MeetUp event!
Fear of the unknown sometimes eliminates competitors without confrontation... So,
How do I claim the winning prize of 75k?
(No need to brandish my brazen comments if you could not sense the sarcasm... Just Sayin'...)

Ok, thanks Diann. This is weird to say the least. I have no idea what happened to send this guy off the reservation and do what he did but I will not lose any sleep trying to figure it out. I will be happy to help out but I am not even close to being experienced enough to lead preppers of all levels. I will support whoever wants to step up. On the left hand side of the page it says "This group does not have an organizer. learn more. If somebody who knows about prepping wants to step up, just click on the "learn more" link and you can become the group organizer.

I am not clear on what one gets for $75,000

    1 · November 30, 2012

Shawn, that was the original organizer's attempt at being a nutter on his way out. Hopefully we can make a go at this without him. I actually liked him, but this "event" is beyond the pale.

Don't join this particular MeetUp. It is NOT for real. (OKAY, considering the price tag, you'd have to be particularly DUMB to do so, and I do admire Darwin... but...)
Richard left the team; hopefully we will have someone or someones here who are interested in running this MeetUp. I am willing to help out, but I do live a bit south of most membership.

This seems to be a bit of a trashcan idea before the Organizer quit. Or am I being overly cynical for no reason?

How about doing a winter survival trip, building a natural shelter, we can go to Mount washington state park in Mass. This place is on right at the North West corner of Ct. just inside Ma. It's free first come first serve, we just have to camp on designated areas.

    3 · November 30, 2012

I am not spending any money to go survive, there are plenty of areas near where we can practice survival tecniques just spending gas money to get there.

Please remove me from your members list. This Green Beret wants nothing to do with your nuttyness!

It is either the Award for being 'Last Survivor'... Or the organizer's Deposit (Bond) for Insurance, you know, next-of-kin type stuff...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
