A Hijacking (Kapringen) is a Danish thriller dealing with a cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean.

I arrived about 35 minutes late :( but at the moment I started watching the movie I felt involved with the story. It is a great movie. I don't give 5 stars because I was late. I was about to go to join the group at the Sushi restaurant, but I received a phone call that changed my plans.

What I don't understand is why the scenes when the ship is hijacked were left out. Yes, I saw the trailer and that dramatic part was not shown yesterday (?) Anyway it’s a great movie. Thanks, G!

I had high expectations for this movie and it did not disappoint. I thought it was scary yet fascinating. Somali pirates are a very real threat in the Indian Ocean and I've read many stories about them. It was interesting to see this very well put together film. I really enjoyed the theater as well, it was very spacious and I liked that the bathrooms were so close as I didn't have to miss an extra second of the movie when I had to use the facilities! Iron sushi was a nice little hole in the wall restaurant with very good prices and yummy food. We had a nice discussion about whether or not the woman that was with Peter (CEO) a couple of times was his wife or mistress. A few thought that she was the mistress but I am convinced that it was his wife and the reason that he treated her poorly was because he was so upset and involved with the hostage crisis. He was an impressive character who cared more than anything about the safety of his crew. Thanks G, another great event!!

If anyone is interested, according to the cast list, Annete and Peter have the same last name.

But for the fact that I'm still here, I'm not sure that I breathed for about two hours. Intense film. It took me a while to recover, actually. All in a good way though - very well shot and directed. Loved the dissection of those two characters, which made it particularly work. As always, good recommendation G. Thank you.

It was an interesting movie. Though it was a Danish movie, there was much more English dialogue than I had thought there would be.

FYI: some of us usually go for food/drinks/chat after the show, anyone is welcome to join in, just stick around after the movie. There's a sushi restaurant not far from the venue, and last time we were there we went to an Italian restaurant in the area. Cheers!

I purchase these kinds of 'Art' films on a regular basis - this will be a great "preview" purchase oppty for me. I also briefly attended Barry College (now Barry University) in the 70s which is near the Shores theater. I will enjoy seeing it again!
