Thursday nights are "electric night," so you may bring your amp. We just ask that you please pay particular attention to volume. (It's usually a good idea to face your amp toward you so you can hear how loud it is.) Cafe Bohemia is compact and well insulate, so a little goes a long way. Also, if you have a choice between amps, please choose your smaller one. Space is at a premium.

If you are looking for a break from the stress and structure of your week and an opportunity to share & develop your musical skills in a laid-back “song circle” format (It’s not an “Open Mic” event.), we look forward to you joining us. We are a warm, friendly group, and we love music. You are welcome to bring your original works, but we encourage you to bring pieces that others are familiar with, so everyone can play along with you. Ultimately, that’s what an “open jam” is all about; everyone playing & singing, learning and having a good time together.
This group is mainly for guitar & stringed instrument enthusiasts. However, there are often other acoustic instruments in participation. Cafe Bohemia is a "cozy" venue. So, most participants bring their more "compact" instruments, and are aware of the need for maintaining a reasonable volume level. For instance, whereas an accordion has tended to be a challenging fit in the past (given its intense volume), a harmonica or bongos have been more of a "complement" to our group. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM, and the third Saturday of each month from 1pm until 5pm. Tuesday nights are "Acoustic Only" (with an electric bass as an exception). Thursdays are the designated “Electric Nights.” The third Saturday meetups are acoustic. Again, since it is a compact and well-insulated venue, we ask that you pay close attention to volume and if you have a choice of amps, please bring your more compact one.
