Cafe Scientifique - Cosmic Rays

*** Needs a Cafe E host. Any volunteers?***

Emeritas Professor Alan Watson was Professor of Physics at the University of Leeds from 1984, having previously been Reader in Particle Cosmic Physics there, until he retired in 2003. Watson was instrumental in the creation of the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina (begun 1999) which gathered the data that led to major discoveries in cosmic-ray astronomy. Alas, I will miss this! I would like to have heard the latest from Auger on very high energy cosmic rays, and where they are coming from in (or out) the galaxy.
