Cafe Scientifique is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore and debate the latest ideas in science and technology.
Dr Miltiadis Parotidis will come and explain the science behind hydraulic fracturing. Dr Parotids holds a PhD from Vienna University of Technology in Geomechanics and Geophysics.
This is a joint event with the Thames Valley Group of the Geological Society
Café Scientifique talks start at 7:30 p.m. in Monroe's Rock Cafe (formerly known as the Déjà vu Bar & Eatery) and are followed by questions from the audience in the second half. Everyone is welcome to ask a question or make a comment; you don't need to be a scientist to enjoy the evening.
There is no advance booking, but please contact me if you want further information about this often packed event.
