A Glimpse into China with Roger and Jeanette

Roger shares his experience on tour along with his wife Jeanette. This commences with a visit to the ancient city of Shanghai now morphing into one of the world’s most magnificent modern metropolises. A four-day cruise on the might Yangtze River incorporates the sensational transition of the huge Three Gorges Dam and a relaxing cruise up river to Chongqing. No visit to China should ever exclude the phenomenal Terra-Cotta Army in Xian or a stop at the Great Wall and the capital city of Beijing. This escapade into the world’s foremost emerging economy provided samplings of its history, cuisine, culture, hospitality and warmth of its people. Roger and Jeanette plan to return.”

Note: we have moved to the downstairs meeting room at the Melrose Cafe on 17th Ave SW. There is no minimum charge. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available as well as a full bar and restaurant menu. Street parking is available.

We hope you enjoy the change of venue and we look forward to your comments. For any questions, please email the organizers. Remember a donation for the CAT kitty.  Thank you!

I appreciate that the presenters were enthusiastic about their trip and the warmth of the people that they met there, however, the slide show was too long. It wasn't finished at 2 hrs when I left.

Perhaps instead of comments on every slide, a group of slides on the architecture in a particular city could have been introduced, faces of people in China, etc.
