In the fall of 2012 Ulrike Thomas spent 3 months travelling through Africa, which included the islands of Zanzibar and Madagascar.
Her presentation will focus on Zanzibar’s stunning beaches, seaweed farming in the Indian Ocean and the UNESCO world heritage site of Stone Town as well as Madagascar’s amazing wildlife not found anywhere else in the world such as lemurs, shifakas and a variety of chameleons and other lizards. The trip included a visit to the spiny forest full of Baobab trees and home stays with the fascinating and hardworking local people.
