This is a list for you of the brokers that I personally use and trade with. Feel free to try them out, and let me know what you think. I have been using these brokers for the last 5 years and have been very happy with them. If you want to use them and go live, let me know and I can refer you to the same managers who I deal with.

FOREX & FUTURES - I use Exto Capital. This is leveraged trading, I use 200:1 but you can go as high as 400:1 if you want. They have been fantastic to work with over the years. Excellent customer service and support. All around good reliable and great spreads with no commissions! Go here to get a free demo account and give them a try.

FUTURES - I use Mirus futures out of Chicago. I have been trading with them for 5 years without ever having a problem of any kind. Fixed commissions of $4.35 a round trip per contract on the ES S&P 500. Commissions do vary depending on what futures products you want to trade but stay around the $5/contract area. Click here to open a free Ninja trader demo account with them

STOCKS/EQUITIES and OPTIONS - I use Questrade in Canada. Some of best ways to trade are in sheltered accounts. This is the only discount broker in Canada that I know of where we can trade our TFSA and RRSP accounts! Tax free trading is absolutely the most powerful tool one can have, and you can do it here for the cheapest commissions I have found. Only $4.95 per trade and if you want I can send you a link to help you open your account to get $100 in free commissions when you start your account. Click here to go to their site and get trading your TFSA and RRSP's ASAP!

A few weeks ago we did a meetup where we helped people get demo accounts set up with some of the brokers I personally use. I put that info into a page so if you couldn't make it out, you can still check out what we did. Feel free to send me an email if you want any help or if you have any questions.

Seems like a lot of diff brokers. Do you know of a single broker that can handle all four in one platform?

You can use IB to equities and futures together, however they do not offer the TFSA or RRSP trading. Questrade is the only non-bank discount broker that I know of who does. If you want to trade forex you have to go offshore because the SEC has ruled that individual investors that are not accredited investors cannot trade forex and now North American law makers have limited the leverage to 50:1 instead of the 200 or even 400:1 available offshore. So for instance Exto who I use is out of Switzerland. As a new trader, the best place to learn leveraged trading is in the futures market trading the emini S&P 500 or ES. It is a regulated North American market, where as the forex is completely unregulated and not centralized. You can do this through the futures trading link I put above. or Find a different broker that works for you.
