Just moved to Calgary with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Looking to meet other geeks that enjoy role-playing games, fantasy novels, video games, movies, comics and any other geek stereotype that i forgot to mention :)
Role-playing games by far. I am currently playing a solo game of D&D 4th edition with a buddy back in BC, but i would like to join a group here in Calgary as well.
Right now i am dividing my time between Diablo 3 on PC and Skyrim on xbox, but i still play WoW from time to time as well.
the original 3 Star Wars is a no brainier as a top 3, but other than that i would have to rate them as follows. > Serenity - i have never seen the TV series (firefly) but i think it is one of the best kept secrets of the sci-fi genre as far as movies go. > ....god, i could go on all night. Lets say i love movies and you could name most sci-fi and fantasy movies and i would like it. the most recent exception to this rule is the the new Ghost Rider movie. I watched it last night..and man did it suck LOL
I dont think i could name just one person (real or imagined), but shouldn't everyone's favorite geek be themselves? Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.
I mostly want to get into a D&D game, but i am willing to try most rpgs.
Well, our meetup sessions cover a variety of playing styles.
Our Wednesday night encounters groups are run by Bob Macfie if you like a weekly game. These sessions are usually short, however.
The first and third Saturdays of each month are the seat of the longer, day-long playing sessions. Campaigns at the bi-monthly events are based on a drop-in format so that anyone can come or go as they wish.
