This is the premier backpacking trail in Waterton. It will consist of 3 days and two nights.
The second day most of us will scramble Mount Lineham and/or Mount Hawkins but this is optional.

Time: 8 hours
Day 1 - Saturday June 29th: Red Rock Parkway to Lone Lake via Blakiston Creek Trail
The trail to Lone Lake will be a gradual climb following a creek. The campground has a fire pit and bear poles. We will need to bring an axe and collect dead fall firewood. Distance 15km, Elevation gain 580m.
Day 2 - Sunday June 30th: Scrambling
There will be an option to scramble Mount Hawkins and/or Mount Lineham. Only Mount Hawkins, Distance 21.5km, Elevation gain ~875m. Only Mount Lineham, Distance 23.2km, Elevation gain ~900m. Both Mount Hawkins and Mount Lineham, Distance 27.7km, Elevation gain 1100m.
We will return back to Lone Lake campground.
Day 3 - Monday July 1st: Lone Lake to Red Rock Parkway via Snowshoe Trail
We will make a loop back on this route and saving the toughest section for when our backpacks are empty! Distance 18.7km,Elevation gain 200m, Elevation loss 800m.
There are a total of 4 campsites at Lone Lake and I have reserved them all. This will allow us to have ~ 8 people. June 29th and June 30th we will be staying at Lone Lake.
There is a 2 x $11.70 reservation fee and a $9.8/night/person camping cost. Total cost of $22.94/person based on 7 people.
We will require rope for bear hangs and ax/saw for firewood.

Gear can be rented at either Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) or UofC Outdoor Center. Once we know who is all going, we will get together to see who has what gear so we can share things.
DRIVING AND DIRECTIONS:
We will meet at the in Calgary meeting point and carpool from there. Please be on time as we will only wait a short while past past the departure time before we leave.
Travel to the Waterton Townsite in the Waterton Lakes National Park in the southwest corner of the province of Alberta, Canada. From Waterton Avenue (main street) travel on the 15 kilometre Red Rock Parkway to the very end and the parking lot of the Red Rock Canyon.
