  • Helmet (mandatory)
  • Gloves
  • Proper clothing
  • Lunch and water
  • Sun glasses, SPF rated lip balm, sunscreen
  • Tools/parts; spare tube, pump, multi-tool, patch kit, tire spoons

DRIVING AND DIRECTIONS:
We will meet at the in Calgary meeting point and carpool from there. Please be on time as we will only wait a short while past past the departure time before we leave.

Head west of Calgary on Hiway 1 to the well marked Hiway 68 (Sibbald Creek Trail) exit (about 17.5km past hiway 22 overpass) and AFTER the Jumpingpound Road. It is 21km West of the Calgary Olympic Park intersection. Take the exit, go under the highway for about 12km to the Pinetop Recreation Area. If this is gated you can park on the road there or a further 2km West to get in the middle of the figure 8.

Trail leaves from the bottom West side of the parking area. Trail also crosses highway 68 twice, once 2.1km East of you and again 1.6km West of you.

According to all road closures i can find, we are good to get to Jumping Pound Loop. Though do expect a bit of a hike a bike in sections that are washed out:)

Does anyone want a ride from the South? I head out HWY 8, so the carpooling location doesn't work at all.

Highway 1 and 68 to get to this trailhead are not listed as closed or damaged, this event should be a go!

Just realized that I have to bring in my bike that day to the shop and took forever to get the appointment…so I'll have to bow out of this one, sorry! Will be hitting up West Bragg on Friday with the Mtn biking group, for anyone else interested!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
