**Location may change based on snow conditions**
Due to warm weather in K-Country, we are going to go snowshoe in the Kootenay! This trail will take us past Vista Lake and to Arnica Lake. If Time permits, we can push on to see if we can do Twin Lakes.
A good level of fitness is required as our pace is moderate-fast. Please be realistic about your abilities. You must be able to commit to the entire event.

Time: 5 hours
- Hiking or winter boots
- Ski or hiking poles
- Proper seasonal clothing (dress in layers, toque, gloves, wool socks)
- Lunch and drinks (no Camelbaks or hydration bladders in winter)
- Sun glasses/SPF rated lip balm
- No jeans, no cotton clothing of any kind!
Snowshoes and hiking poles can be rented at either Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) or UofC Outdoor Center.
DRIVING AND DIRECTIONS:
We will meet at the in Calgary meeting point and carpool from there. Please be on time as we will only wait a short while past past the departure time before we leave.
Drive west of Calgary on Highway #1. Go south on on Hwy 93, trailhead is at the Vista Lake Viewpoint, 2 km east of the BC border. The viewpoint is on the south side of the highway.
You must sign a trip waiver and contact information form to attend this event. The event organizer will have these for you.
