Congratulations on your ride guys. I wish I had know about this group a couple weeks ago, I'd have joined you. I did my first SS1600 last summer.

    ...a very successful ride!!!

We finished it in 18:17 hrs.
Street & Trips 2010 routing totalled 1677 Kms.
My MC trip odometer showed 1697Km (1% discrepancy = not too bad).
Weather stayed dry the whole way through. Temperatures varied from 14c at the start to as low as1c at Banff and Lake Louise. As we headed toward Jasper it warmed up a little (4c-10c). Once the sun came up it felt nice.
The ride home from Medicine Hat was cooler too. Temps varied from 14c to 6c around midnight.
One route to the Hat we watched the sun dip into the horizon (19:17), and deer grazing on the side of the road...

    a few questions-
when yu say finished sun am does that mean 1am or 5am?
what is the longest time we stop for?
I wish we could start earlier like 4am-lol I would rather have more dark riding time when I am wide awake than when I am tired

    Hi All,

The Iron Butt Association has per-approved our route!
You will NOT have to keep the usual paperwork, and only need 5 key receipts to document your ride.

We'll need receipts and odometer reading at COP, Jasper, Vermilion, Medicine Hat, and Calgary. I can be the start and finish witness. We'll also snap odometer picture (reading) at the start and finish (GPS & date/time stamped). It does not get any easier then this.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
