Event 6 of 12: Hike in Fish Creek Park - Glennfield

This event should last about 90 mins as we explore Fish Creek Park on both sides of Macleod Trail.

Dogs welcome if on leash and obedient! Just remember that some members may be afraid of them. Others are allergic to them and a loose dog can put them in the hospital if they come in contact with them.

How can I get there? No ctrain station there..

Get off at Fish Creek Ctrain Stn. Just walk across that long footbridge over Macleod Trail and then look to the left for the entrance to the park. As you walk into the park up to the first parking lot in front of you, go to the far left side and look for the group mustering up together.

FIsh Creek Park is not too exciting a hike, especially the side where all the houses are; however the entrance to the Park from bottom 24 ST is a horse of a different colour- quite charming and countrified woods- no urbanity visible there at all! How about Cochrane Glendale( Glenview) Park? It feels like being out in the Rockies which seem very close indeed- A lot of people do not yet know of this almost brand new park to the left a few miles before reaching the top of the Big Hill.

The Bebo Grove, Voiter's Flats and Shannon Terrace entry points are on the books for the upcoming Tuesday morning walks. The Glennfield area is known for finding an odd beaver and every time I have been on the east side, Chickadees are present.

I think that you are talking about the Glenbow Ranch Park with over 20 kms of trails. We have visited the ranch a few times over the past two years and no doubt one of the organizers or a member will suggest it in the future again. To the north of Cochrane and east is Big Hill Springs Provincial Park which is interesting to explore as well. We'll have to do that one again in the summer. The last time that I had that posted, it was just Lynne and myself who attended it.
