Preparation for summer hiking - 8thwalk

PLEASE NOTE THIS WALK TAKES LONGER THAN ONE HOUR.

THE GROUP CAN DECIDE IF THEY WANT TO WALK THE FULL TRAIL OR GO BACK DOWN AT THE HALF WAY MARK.

OR WE MAY SPLIT INTO TWO GROUPS, ONE GOING BACK AND ONE GOING ON

So glad you recovered last night, because the Douglas Fir Trail is an amazing walk, with a combination of up and down hills and stairs.

If they have not opened the path, then we will walk around Edworthy again.

Soon we will be going hiking into the mountains, however if you are like us, you managed to get a wee bit out of shape over the winter months.

So, let's get out and work on our stamina by starting off slowly and building up.

As the series goes on we will incorporate hills, stairs and the opportunity to carry a loaded back pack.  (Feel free to bring your back pack to all walks if you like)

Each walk will be approximately 1 hour long and will take place in the evenings.

If it happens that I cannot join preparation walks in the city, just to let you know that I walk all day long at my work, and in parks, in my days off, so I can go with you in a mountain walks later. That is not problem for me at all.

you might want to check and see if the walkway/park is even open with the fire there

I think the fire was further along than that - closer to 16 Avenue and up from there.
