Elk Pass Trail...pretty easy really but it is on the long side with a few steep sections up the hydroline and into/out of the creek bed. There may be creek crossings or water along the trail.
This trail is reported to have been significantly damaged in the flood. We may have to do some route finding and bushwhacking if this is the case. Hence the intermediate designation.
Length: ~12km rt
Time: At our leisure but probably 4-6 hours.
There is a lot to explore here and we could take a few other trails if we have the time/inclination/good weather.
I am heading out to Kananaskis tomorrow. Please meet at Shouldice on Saturday morning and carpool from there. As noted above, my father knows the way. I suggest at least 15$ for carpooling since we are going deeper in to Kananaskis.
Suggested Clothing & Gear:
Bring appropriate clothing for warm and cold weather – dress in layers.
