Rummel Lake Snowshoe and afternoon tea at Mount Engadine Lodge

  • Dec 21, 2013 · 8:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Do not RSVP No – I only need to know if you are attending.

Please take time to read all information below before signing up.

Rummel is a beautiful lake in a tranquil setting; it is similar to Chester Lake but not as busy. After the snowshoeing and in order to make the event more festive, we will stop at Mount Engadine Lodge for afternoon tea / snack (app. $15 per person including cheese & crackers, fruit, delicious home made cakes, drinks).

Please be courtesies regarding your No Show(s). Participants are waiting for you at the trailhead and in some cases you offer and arrange ride and will not show up.  Having said that; if you have more than two no shows I will put you on the waiting list. Late cancellation or No Show would make the event organizer and other participants not happy. If you cancel after RSVP is closed you will be marked as No Show. Anyone who consistently double books on my hikes will be moved to the waiting list.

Trips are dependent on weather conditions and for that reason the morning of the trip please check the website to make sure the event is not cancelled.

Our pace will be relaxed; it will not be a race. Please be realistic about your abilities, you must be able to commit to the entire event.   Only sign up if you are willing to stick together and hike as a group. No beginners.

I noticed this photo album is empty. Does anyone have any photos to add to this past event to share?

Would you share the recipe for the wonderful Callebaut dark chocolate with puffed rice cookies? I dreamt of them last night!!

    • Cathie H

      Hi Rita. Here it is:
      Chocolate Weirdies
      3/4 c chocolate chips (I use 125g BC semi-sweet)
1/2 c crispy brown rice cereal
      1/4 c roasted chopped almonds
      1/4 c unsweetened coconut
Add ingredients to melted chocolate and stir until coated. Drop onto lightly oiled baking sheet and refrigerate until clusters are hard. Enjoy!

BC semi-sweet - that's Bernard Callebaut chocolate, and it can be found in the bulk section of Superstore. I think that's Cathie's now-not-so-secret ingredient that made these so yummy.
