Snowshoe Chester Lake - Intermediate.. No Beginners Please

This trip is not suitable for first time beginners.

This trail is always a great snowshoe and lots of exercise. Shortly into the  trail we start the first ascent, as we go up we can look back at views of Burstall Pass, this ascent ends in the first meadow which is beautiful and a great place to catch our breath. Leaving the meadow we head into the trees to start the second more gentle ascent to the next meadow and eventually Chester Lake.  From a nice lunch spot midway along the lake shore we can enjoy views of Mt Chester, Mt Gusty and Fortress.  The return trip to the trailhead is a breeze... downhill all the way! Round trip is 8km and 287m. This is an ADULTS only trip and NO PETS please

You will need a lunch, 2 litres of water and something like energy bars or trail mix for snacks. A small thermos with a hot drink for lunch is nice but optional. We will snowshoe at a leisurely pace with little stops along the way to catch our breath, admire the view and take pictures.

ALL WINTER TRIPS ARE DEPENDENT ON WEATHER CONDITIONS SO THE MORNING OF THE TRIP PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE TO MAKE SURE THE TRIP ISN'T CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. We will meet at Shouldice Arena Parking lot at the corner by 16th Ave, there will be a carpooling fee of $15 per person paid to your driver, please have correct change. For those who can take a car and some passengers please indicate as a comment when you RSVP. This will be a full day trip with us arriving back at Shouldice late afternoon. We will leave within 5 minutes of the posted meeting time, please come 10 minutes early. I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
