Bike to Highwood Pass (South side)

Leave Calgary at 7:00 AM, start biking from the South Winter Gate at approximately 9:00 AM. Return trip is about 90 Kms. Again, a long uphill climb to the pass. Estimate 3 hours each way.

This is the last day before the highway re-opens for the summer.

It was another fantastic trip! Also very nice to meet both Molly and Anton. I had a great time. Hopefully you both did as well.

So I could probably do it, too.

Hi, just wondering if anyone was wanting to car pool? If not we could meet near Longview while there is still cell service. The forecast calls for sprinkles but will keep watching the weather.

Hi Curtis, It is unlikely that we will be back to Calgary by 5 PM. If we start biking at 9, take 6 hours return to the Pass and back(even without a break) and 2 hour drive back. That is way to close and I am not wanting to be in a rush either. You can decide what you would like to do.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Hopefully next time.

How long is the biking part?

    June 6, 2014

Hi Holly, I estimate the bike ride as 2-1/2 to 3 hours each way. This should be quite an easy pace also. There is quite a bit of elevation gain to the pass but mostly downhill on the return.
