Praire Mt. Evening conditioning hike, D4-5 moderate fast pace

Prairie Mt. is a moderate-difficult hike. We will be doing this at a moderate fast pace.

We need to take microspike's and HEADLAMP we return in the dark.

We meet at Anderson C Train Station at 5:00 PM or I can also meet people at the trail head for around 6 PM.

Elevation gain: 700M

Distance: 7 km

Time:about 2-3 hrs on trail

We will park at the winter gate on Hwy 66.

This trip is not for beginners you must be hiking fit.

TRIP WAIVER AND CONDITIONS: You must sign a trip waiver to attend this event. Your organizer will be your witness. Yearly membership fee is $20 which lasts until the Annual General Meeting. Alternately, you may participate as a non-member for $5 for the day.

TRANSPORT:
CORA trips start at the trailhead. As a convenience to participants only, we meet at the meeting point in Calgary then car pool from there. Please be on time. We don't want to have to wait around long. You may choose to meet us at the trailhead, but please advise us ahead of time. Please indicate in your RSVP COMMENTS if you can drive, if necessary. I need to know if we have adequate transportation for all participants.
Please reimburse some $$ to drivers for gas. Gas contributions for drivers to be equally divided among participants in each vehicle.

EQUIPMENT: Weather can change quickly -- Weather can change quickly -- sun, rain, wind, hot, or cool -- BE PREPARED.

MANDATORY: - Sense of humour, 1-2 liters of water/Gatorade, snacks (energy food) layers (NO COTTON Shirts), Dress for winter, warm sturdy boots, sun glasses, personal first-aid kit, warm gloves, fleece hat, hiking poles, no jeans!.MICROSPIKES, HEADLAMP.

RECOMMENDED: -a camera, extra batteries, gaitors.

      I did try to race home and grab my stuff and go... but I wiped out on my bike. I'm okay aside from a bit of road rash and snapped front brake cable. I made it home okay, but too late to get down there. Next time!

    On this trip I'm not as worried about keeping the group together. You can go at your own pace, just be willing to push yourself. If you don't make the summit by the time I come down you can turn around. I will waiting at the top for about 30 minutes or so if needed.
