D4: Three Sisters Pass (Moderate Hike)

Please read the entire description first.

There will be a test.

Three Sisters Pass (Moderate Hike)

Distance: 6-7 km (roundtrip)

Elevation gain: 595m (Calgary tower is 191m)

Time: 5 hours

(Don't make plans that depend on it. It's the mountains!)

Difficulty: Moderate, somewhat challenging

Skill level: An average level of fitness with strong legs required

Pace: Moderate-to-slow

(If you are looking for an Olympic decathlon, you are in the wrong trip.)

Hazards: Mountains are dangerous places :)

Trail Conditions: Unknown

Weather Conditions: Unknown

I've been looking for a nice shoulder season hike under 12km; admittedly I stayed too long indoors and prefer to reclaim my mountain legs with shorter but engaging hikes. Three Sisters Pass appears to be a good one for late Spring. If conditions are good, we'll hike along a running stream (which is like a treat in a hot day).

Who knows? Part of going to mountains implies getting ready for the unexpected. Will it rain, snow, or shine like crazy? I'll bring my raincoat and Gore-tex boots.
